About Liushishishan

Liushishishan (六十石山) is at a foothill of Coastal Mountain Range (海岸山脈) near Fuli, Hualien (花蓮富里). It is one of the three renowned “Daylily Mountain” (金針山) in Taiwan. The dried flowers of daylilies is a culinary ingredient. During daylily’s full bloom in August and September, the village becomes quite touristy as its golden landscape attracts many photography hobbyists.

There are various options of accommodation in the village but visitors may need to manage own vehicles to arrive there and move between pavilions on the hills. Visiting Liushishishan during off-peak season is also a good alternative for someone who wants to get away from the crowded farm roads and have a real taste of a rural community.

The scenery of the farmland on rolling hills, towns spreading out into the horizon of East Longitudinal Valley (or East Rift Valley 花東縱谷) and the array of mountains unfolded on the other side of the valley offer numberless of composition possibility.
