Hi there,
This is Yen. I was born and raised in Taiwan. My partner and I settled down in New Zealand since 2015. New Zealand and Taiwan are different from each other in many ways, but they are the nations of mountainous islands with each own scenery. Mountains are the very beginning where I become a photography hobbyist since 2008.
This website is an image and memory gallery, a record of my first-hand experience plus some opinions gained after years of hiking and photo shooting. This is not a website to provide a step-by-step instruction for a hike or a photography classroom. But I hope the viewers may appreciate the scenery and the relevant information associated with a location or a hiking trail.
New Zealand is renowned for its beauty of nature and the reputation is truly well-deserved. In contrast to NZ, Taiwan is underrated in this regard. Hopefully the image presented on this website may inspire people to explore something other than the “modern” or the touristy parts of Taiwan, the original “Ilha Formosa.”

My partner took this photo. We had a hike to Nanhu Cirque (南湖圈谷) to shoot some portrait photos and videos for our wedding. On my right hand was a magic selfie stick which can extend to 3-meter high. Instead of a piece of cloth, I mounted a GoPro on it.
