About Dadaocheng
Dadaocheng (大稻埕), Taipei, is a wharf along Tamsui River (淡水河). It was an important transportation site in Taipei over a century ago, just a few steps away from the crowded Dihua Street (迪化街). This place was actually not extraordinary in terms of its scenery, but probably due to the traffic convenience or word-of-mouth, Dadaocheng was listed as one of the most recommended places for photography back then.
However, I am not sure when or how did it started, but it seems this place no longer attracts many photographers in recent years. Since 2016, I have been Dadaocheng a few times when I was in Taiwan, but I did not see any other people setting up their tripods and waiting the sunset anymore. Or maybe it was just because I was not there at the right time. Nevertheless, it is still a nice place where bikers can rest and maybe buy some drinks.
